Check a game link before opening it
Use HTTPS and check that the hostname is exactly darts301.com or www.darts301.com. Addresses such as darts301.com.example.org are different sites. The game does not ask for a login, payment details, or software installation to play.
Who runs the game
Darts301.com is operated by abitofcode.com in the United Kingdom. For privacy questions or requests, email us using the address below.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to include. We use this to respond to your enquiry or privacy request. Please do not send passwords or full shared game links.
Browser storage
We use local storage for your optional nickname, dart colour, solo game progress, personal bests, room choices, and sound preferences. Each game choice can keep its own saved progress. Public audio files may be cached. This stays in your browser rather than a game database. We rely on our legitimate interests in providing and resuming the game and settings you request. You can play without giving your real name or email address.
An advertising recap also uses tab-local session storage for temporary game progress. It expires after one hour and is removed when the browser clears the tab's session storage.
Your saved solo games, nickname, personal bests, preferences, and cached audio remain until replaced, cleared, or removed by your browser. Older two-player turn links can still be opened: their saved progress is also kept locally. When you open or save a game, inactive received-turn saves unused for 30 days are removed, and only the 20 most recently used are kept. The open turn, including a reply ready to share, is protected.
To remove it, close other game tabs and clear site data for darts301.com in your browser settings. This removes saved progress, but does not delete links you have already sent.
Shared game links
The current games are solo practice games. You can share a completed result as a challenge link containing your nickname, result, and game rules; it does not create a live two-player match. New two-player matches are no longer offered. Older exchanged turn links remain supported and contain both player names, dart coordinates, and game state.
Links are encoded, not encrypted: anyone with the link can read, forward, or reopen it. Use nicknames and share only with people you trust. Game data is held after the # in the URL. Your chosen messaging service and recipients receive the link under their own privacy practices.
Ads and analytics
When enabled and available, labelled Google AdSense units may appear below the homepage’s game guide, to the right of the game on desktop, or within the dartboard assets guide. The left desktop space is reserved for our own ads and links. Empty sponsor areas are labelled as advertisement placeholders. The direct game-guide pages and legacy recap do not request ads. Play remains available if you decline consent or an ad is blocked. We do not use a separate analytics service. Pages opened with shared game or challenge links do not load ad scripts, and shared game links are not sent to advertising services.
On pages with advertising, Google and its advertising partners receive technical data such as your IP address, browser/device information, page address, and ad interactions. They may use cookies, identifiers, and web beacons to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and personalise ads based on visits to this and other websites. Where required, advertising cookies and personalised advertising rely on your consent. The consent message identifies the partners, purposes, and their policies. You can decline there or withdraw consent at any time using Privacy & cookie settings below. You can also opt out of Google's personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings, and some other vendors' personalised advertising through AdChoices. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, including its data uses, and data retention policy. Retention depends on the data, your settings, and legal or fraud-prevention needs.
Hosting and security
Hostinger hosts the site in the United Kingdom. Your browser sends technical connection data, including your IP address, browser details, requested page, and request time, to deliver and secure the site. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the game. Shared game data after the # is not included in normal hosting requests.
Server diagnostics are replaced as limited log storage fills, rather than on a fixed timetable. Hosting backups are retained for up to two weeks; they do not include browser-only names or saved games.
Providers may process data outside the UK. Hostinger's data processing addendum and Google's transfer safeguards explain the applicable adequacy arrangements and contractual safeguards, and how to obtain copies. Other advertising partners' policies are available through the consent message.
Your rights
Use the contact email above to ask to access, correct, erase, restrict, or transfer personal data we hold about you, where these rights apply. Browser-only game data must be managed on your device.
You can object to our use of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
